Tracing the iPhone When Developing Google Android

According to the story contained in the book "The Atlantic" reported by BGR, Google is the team designed a prototype similar to the BlackBerry which is touted as the forerunner of Android were surprised by the presence of the iPhone in early 2007. The presence of the Apple smartphone seems to make Google team worried because the project looks very old school and they immediately changed his plans.
Did Google just copied the iPhone? In a book titled "In The Plex: How Google Thinks, Works, and Shapes Our Lives" OSNews cited by jeruknipis site, told that Ive worked on two projects in 2006-2007 Android smartphones. The project is led by Google Sooner Steven Troughton-Smith in which the concept is similar to the BlackBerry and Googles Dream that became the forerunner of todays Android.
At that time, Sooner projects realized in the 300 series are supported HTC Exca OMAP850 with 64MB of RAM and is available in black and white. This device features a camera, but it has not been run on the 3G network and without WiFi connection. Supposedly, this smartphone was launched May 15, 2007 a few months before the iPhone was launched.
Over time, the project developer Sooner immediately assume what they are doing is very wrong. Because smartphones are deemed too similar to Windows Mobile, Symbian, and BlackBerry, so it is considered too old school.
They finally canceled the project and focus on the Dream project to be considered more in line with future requirements in terms of hardware, sensors, touch screen and so on. This project eventually led to the HTC Dream or G1 being the first Android smartphone in the world.
By Dianne Hackborn, a former team of Google developers, project digagalkannya Sooner not because of the iPhone. He claimed that the decision was taken before the iPhone was announced.
"I do not remember the date, but I strongly believe that the decision to derail the project Sooner happen before the iPhone came out," Hackborn said.
